Seed Depth:
Plant crowns about 5 cm (1 inch) deep in mounds with well manured soil
Space between plants:
20-40 cm apart (1 ft) apart
Harvest Time:
First harvest in about 2-3 years
Hints:
Asparagus shoots grow in spring and can be harvested as they appear.
Leave the plants to die down in autumn, but allow the ferns to grow to support the growth of shoots in spring
Harvest by slicing off the stalk, close to the ground
Asparagus grows best in areas with a distinct cool or frosty season
Asparagus does not like areas with continuously wet and warm soil
